A traditional working-class northern suburb with a strong civic core around Cox Road and Sparks Road, plus the Northern Bay College campuses. Norlane is in the middle of long-running urban renewal that has brought new housing, the Northern ARC sports facility, and refreshed retail. It remains one of the most affordable suburbs close to the bay and the city.
