Anytime Fitness Armstrong Creek

I booked in with Sam and let him know prior that I was hesitant to booking in because I’ve heard bad things about how gyms operate and scam people. Boy was I right. I signed up initially as I thought Sam was a genuine and nice person who told me there was a 7 day cooling off period but didn’t specify anything else. In his words he was “feeling nice” and said he’d make the membership fee half price which he didn’t do. He sat there and basically regurgitated the same information that you find on their website even when you asked questions. When something came up and I went to cancel within the 7 day period he then told me that the fob is non refundable ($80 for something that probably cost them $3) and when I said oh you should let people know before they sign (especially already knowing I was hesitant to signing in the first place). He wanted to argue and say that’s not how they’re trained and that all the other gyms did it too as if that justified him not telling people prior. Come to now four days after canceling he sent me an email saying he attached a confirmation cancelation receipt and form which he didn’t. To then get another email with a blank cancelation form and still no refund of the membership fee. They’re slimy people and I wouldn’t recommend this location. I signed with Caroline Springs anytime fitness a few years ago but also had to cancel it before the membership started due to moving and they gave me a full refund of the fob and didn’t charge a membership fee. Which tells me that this specific location doesn’t have great management or a good community.

This was the best gym in the area for a couple of years after it opened in 2020. There are now better options around, including the Anytime Fitness in Grovedale (same ownership). Armstrong Creek AF is probably good if you're a noob wanting to learn the basics, but it's lacking if you've been working out for a while. This gym is smaller, lacking a decent functional space and the car parking is currently compromised with the development going on at this site.

Only a newish member and initially dealt with Sam who was both friendly and helpful. No high pressure shit either. Have already started with my anytime fitness personal trainer Ollie [(Macca or Lachie) only Ollie and I know why we both have odd nicknames]. Ollie explained everything and could not be more encouraging or helpful. I'm an old bugger about to turn 59 and haven't trained regularly in the gym for over a decade due to multiple surgeries and injuries from work. Cannot recommend anytime fitness more highly the place is great. Jayme is a fantastic person to be one of the staff who do a meet and greet with you. She is definitely in a great position got her outgoing personality and friendly nature. Could not be happier with this gym. Thanks Sa, Ollie & Jayme

I was a member for over 2.5 years and cancelled due to moving interstate. I spoke with Sam at the gym, paid my outstanding balance on the spot, and was told everything was sorted. I was also told I could use the gym for another 30 days if I wanted. After cancelling and moving, my bank notified me that the gym attempted to charge me again. After reading the email sent a couple of hours later, I realised they intended to bill me for an additional month—something that was never mentioned during the conversation. There was also confusion around returning my key fob, which wasn’t taken back despite a security deposit being paid when I signed up. Overall, poor transparency and inconsistent communication, especially disappointing after being a long-term member.

Very friendly staff. Gym doesn't get too busy except around 5-6pm. Almost every kind of equipment available. You also get good view from the treadmill which i really liked. Bathrooms are clean. Following up with rest of the reviews I have to agree that maintenance of the equipments need to be better, lots of torn seats and broken bits. Doesn't hinder the actual performance but doesn't present a good image.
