Barrabool Maze Estate

We had the best time today I’m the maze and cafe. The kids had fun finding their way through the maze and the little boxes of pictures. The birds and were a great touch as well as the playground. The food for great and time efficient. Would definitely go back again for a peaceful outing with the family. If your getting married I think this would be a stunning venue, definitely a hidden gem of geelong.

Fantastic family getaway specially if you have younger kids who would like to get lost in a well designed safe maze. Kitchen/cafe food is okay ish but the views of meadows is fantastic. Would love to go again.

A lovely little hideaway for a day trip. Great maze, gardens and beautiful food. The walk in the maze is a little bit of a trek and uneven so take care. So many quirky things to look at at the Duck Duck Goose!

We spent a night in the Protea cottage of Wayne and Teresa. The cottage was quint, well equipped and very comfortable. We enjoyed watching movie in the evening on the modern large TV screen, getting lost into the maze at sunset and toasting mashmallow in he fire pit at night. Wayne and Teresa went above and beyond to cover any of our needs and questions. We had a fabulous time, we highly recommend Barrabool Maze estate for a weekend escape

Barabool Hills Maze is set in a lovely location, and the maze itself is fun — but the condition of the birds kept on the property is absolutely heartbreaking. Many of the large birds are confined to small, barren cages that do not meet their basic needs. There is no greenery, little to no enrichment, and the water in their enclosures is filthy — it clearly hasn’t been changed in a long time. I contacted the RSPCA about this several years ago and had hoped things might have improved, but sadly nothing seems to have changed. These poor birds have been living in these same conditions for years, and it’s distressing to witness. Two birds in particular were clawing at their tiny cages, visibly distressed and desperate to get out. I’ve raised my concerns with the business directly before, but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears. There was only a very young staff member behind the counter today , so I’m leaving this review in the hope that management will finally take action. These animals deserve better!
