Source: GoogleEden Oak Geelong A big Thank You to the staff for your caring support. We originally booked two nights to recover from jet lag and do some sight-seeing, but eating some bad food the morning we arrived changed that plan. You were able to extend our stay a day at a time, gave a good referral to a clinic, and otherwise made us as comfortable as possible. Our room was nice and comfortable and the common areas are architecturally beautiful with a lovely pool area and surroundings. The location is in a park adjacent to the 4th oldest botanic garden in Australia. Beautiful. Shopping is walkable, but maybe better to drive there if you’re carrying groceries. Breakfast buffet is included. It’s a good one, with eggs, meat, hash browns, baked beans, pancakes, lots of breads, and fruit. Dinner is generally by menu, but sometimes by buffet if a group is being hosted. Overall our stay here is a good memory. We have stayed in hundreds of hotels and this is one of the nicest accommodations in this price range. We got lucky with this gem in the park!
This was our second weekend stay. The location is beautiful. The parking could be better. We were in accessible room 101. The bathroom was fine and people with needs would have enjoyed the size of the bathroom, ease of showering and even a shower chair. Toilet was high and had appropriate handrails. The lighting buttons are odd but easily accessible. There was no "Do Not Disturb" so we were disturbed but I give them credit for trying to do their jobs. The breakfast buffet was plentiful. The coffee machines were tricky and directions of how to make mocha but no chocolate to do it. Don't worry about the hash browns. they are cold and congealed but there is plenty to eat - entire cauldrons of bacon and eggs. yogurt. a bit of fruit and some cereal. it was better in 2025 but this was still good. The mattress in our room wasn't great. It seemed to be latex or something. And because the blanket was tucked in at the end SO HARD I couldn't get the thing out properly I hurt my toes and also couldn't shake the bed properly to check for lost items in the bed and left something behind. Had the bed been more reasonably made, I would not have left the item behind. The lighting is very dark even when all the lights are on. The tv was nice and big. The spa outside is lovely. the rocks were slimy just a bit and probably the water needed to be cleaned at that point. It was still a lovely place to finish up a long bicycle ride. Towels were provided out by the pool. The spa has easy access in and out for able bodies. I have bad knees and found it ok even after the ride. I didn't like that there were 3 doors from the pool area into the main reception area and only one was accessible. The others had stern notes on them to do not use. The door that DID open opened onto slick wood or wood-look lino. I almost immediately slipped on it. Had I been able to use the other entries, I felt I wouldn't have slipped on that surface. Something to consider. If I stayed again, I'd still want to stay in that room and I'd hope that they would improve the things mentioned. Particularly the bed.
From the moment I stepped into the hotel the service was exemplary. Denise on the front desk couldn’t have been more helpful. The room wasn’t huge but very well equipped and spotless. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud! The food in the restaurant was very good and a good breakfast next morning was included. My only slight quibble is that the outdoor pool was freezing: not just cool - Baltic. I’d definitely stay here again.
Rooms a bit small for king size bed but bed was comfy and room clean but a bit drab. Lovely public areas, quiet location and nice setting but needed a car. Thai restaurant onsite a bit average, limited menu and several options not available. Breakfast bonus as included in price. Overall good value if you have a car and want a quieter place away from main city
Lovely setting, breakfast buffet was simple but delicious. My friend and I spent most of our time in the warm pool under the trees. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was modern. Having no water provided in rooms and no microwave was the only thing that was missing for me.
