Grovedale Community Hub

We recently visited the Grovedale Community Hub to check out the toy library and had a mostly positive experience. The toy selection was great — plenty of variety, well-organised, and the kids had fun exploring and picking their favourites. It’s a fantastic resource for local families. However, our visit was dampened by an unfortunate interaction. While the kids were playing outside the hall area, a staff member (or possibly a volunteer) abruptly told us off for the noise. It was disappointing, especially as we later noticed that her own grandchildren were inside making even more noise and behaving quite disrespectfully towards younger children and the equipment. It’s a shame because the space has a lot of potential and the toy library itself is lovely. A bit more consistency and kindness in how families are treated would go a long way in making the experience truly welcoming for everyone.

I organise and run a community playgroup in this space fortnightly. We have found the communication and information given to us as organisers thorough and concise. We use the Blackwood Room which is run by the council and have been able to rectify issues quickly once they arise.

Back to school at the Community hub. Pleasant place to be. They have a variety of things. Like Art classes, Yoga and Seniors groups, just to name a few. They hire out their bright airy rooms .

Multipurpose complex including hall with kitchen. Several meeting rooms for hire. Senior citizens office. Council Office. Large kinder & childcare. Toy Library. Youth recreation space. Amazing place.!
