Nicol's Paddock

The cheese starter, the Cheddar, was delicious, just like the rest of the dishes. The lemon potato sauce was to die for, we even asked for more! Our meats were perfectly cooked. My beef came with a sauce from another world, I don’t know what was in it, but it was divine. And the lamb had a tagine-style flavor, super tasty. We’re absolutely delighted with our evening. Great quality dishes, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. Thank you!

The ambience was beautiful and relaxing, and the service from the staff was warm and attentive, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The flank steak and lamb shoulder were underwhelming in both flavour and execution. Given the price point, we were expecting something more memorable. The portion sizes also felt a little small for what was paid. Additionally, the food took over half an hour to arrive, which was longer than expected, particularly as the venue didn’t seem overly busy at the time. It also appeared that other tables received their meals before us, even though we had ordered earlier, although this may have been because we didn’t order an entree.

We loved the venue. It had a relaxed vibe and expansive rural views Our meals were a long wait; over an hour and we hd a 13 month old child with us. All the meals were tasty, but the quantities were very disappointing for the price we paid. Especially the miserly potatoes; two serving cost s $36 and barely two small quarters for the eight of us. I thought two serving were going to be ample. All the side dishes were meagre for the price unfortunately. My husband's baby squid was fine; he was the lucky diner and the chicken scored well with my daughter. My 87 year old mother found the fish very salty and came away disappointed too. We heard wonderful reports from our friends but it just didn't happen for us and won't be happening again either.

The food was tasty but unfortunately we waited over an hour for it to arrive. When it did arrive we were extremely disappointed with the portion sizes for the price we paid. $18 for a side of potatoes which turned out to be maybe one potato cut up into 6 chunks. Would be reluctant to return based on our experience. We'd heard really good things but our experience didn't match expectations.

Niccol’s Paddock Winery offers a nice experience with its delightful wines and delicious food. The rosé is crisp and refreshing, while the Shiraz boasts rich, full-bodied flavors. The welcoming ambiance and scenic views make it the perfect spot for a memorable trip out. Worth a visit!
