The Barwon Heads Golf Club

Course was great. Traditional links style. Great condition. Clubhouse is beautiful. However receptionist in the clubhouse was full of herself and not the most pleasant. For the service I received, the green fees were over the top. Plenty of courses in the area of similar style and condition that are much cheaper. I acknowledge the clubhouse is beautiful but I am there to play golf, not sit in the clubhouse.

Incredible golf club house. Has just undergone an extensive renovation and it is awesome. Food great too! Look at the carpet when you’re here; it’s a drone shot of the course that’s been woven into carpet!

A beautiful building currently under construction and renovations. Barwon Heads Golf Club has amazing views for its members as they participate in a round of golf. Great facilities, restaurant and bar for members and visitors who are playing round of golf. Beautiful location.

There are no hidden hazards, and no hidden bunkers at Barwon Heads. Our host, who was a marvelous player with a game I envied, said that what you see is what you get at Barwon, and how right he was! With the challenge laying fully exposed in front of you, the golf course was a great test of golf! The par 3’s at Barwon Heads are spectacular! Ranging in a variety of distances, I hit everything from 8 irons to 4 irons. Positioned in every direction, the wind was always of consideration. Three, four, five and six were a particularly outstanding set of golf holes. With undulating slopes, and consistently offering wonderful tight lies, the fairways were great! The winter rough wasn’t penal, but that might be different in the summer with a longer cut. Traditional in taste, and full of rich history, the Clubhouse at Barwon Heads is one of the most impressive clubhouses that we have seen throughout our golfing journey. We took our time admiring the historic photos and hickories lining the hallways.
