Family Doctors Highton

Family Doctors Highton have fantastic GPs. They always provide such great care and go above and beyond to help with any issues. Even if my regular GP is not available it is great knowing I can see any of their team and still have the same level of care and professionalism. The doctors I have seen have all been neuroaffirming and have made me feel super comfortable and feel seen/heard.

It’s no surprise they’re called Family Doctors Highton—because from the moment you walk in, you feel like you’re being looked after by family. Dr. Ern has been my doctor for years, and what’s always stood out is how much he genuinely listens. He takes the time to understand what’s really going on—not just treating symptoms or reaching for a prescription, but working with you to find the right path forward. Michelle, their in-house dietitian, was a huge support after I was diagnosed with coeliac disease. She helped me navigate the changes to my lifestyle without making it feel overwhelming—her knowledge and care made a big difference, especially in those early days when everything was new and a bit daunting. And Annie at the front desk is just one of those people who makes everything feel calm and welcoming the second you arrive. The whole team live and breathe what they stand for—care that’s thoughtful, thorough, and always centered around you as a person. If you live in the Highton area and you’re looking for a place like that, this is it. And honestly, if you have to wait to become a regular patient, it’s worth it.

Really disappointed when asking the clinic to transfer my records to a new clinic in another town they charged $25.00, unheard of to have to pay for your own records sent with the tap of a key. The notes themselves are paid for at the time of the appointment. Apparently my GP Dr Catherine had to agree to waive the fee and refused….small clinic with big heart I think not! The fees here were already really high compared to other clinics. Avoid! I will be complaining to the HCC who say the max they can charge is 0.20 per page under the Health Records Act! I will also be raising this with Ahpra! Really disappointed in the response to this request.

I had a wonderful consult with Dr Chang with some of the loveliest receptionists on the phone before and after my appointment!! I cannot recommend this clinic enough. They were so efficient and I felt so listened to during my consult!

I always feel at ease whenever I visit this clinic. Family Doctors Highton aren't called Family Doctors for nothing! It's no wonder Dr Ern was voted best GP in Geelong by the community! The receptionists are always so nice and cheerful and always puts a smile on my face :)
