THAT PLACE Patisserie & Cafe

We ordered the almond croissant, brownie, and almond teacake. The croissant was perfectly crispy, flaky and soft inside, subtle almond flavour and the frangipane could’ve been sweeter. Brownie was A+, more ooey gooey than cakey and very rich. The teacake was lovely and extremely moist.

This place needs no introduction to the locals however I just discovered that they have French patisserie and the chef is blessed with magical fingers The viennoiseries are a delight to look at and a pleasure for the palate They are fresh and delish My neighbour Paula goes there everyday and she took me to That Place today What a joy for my eyes and my belly I am Mauritian and grew up with French patisserie and I could smell the butter from the croissant that were freshly made It was joy to the eyes to see the chef measuring and prepping her next viennoiseries The place is cosy and the girls are charming It’s very intimate and small but the exact location and size of you want to feel special - not your crowded cafe A must go again …. Merciiiiii

Best patisserie in Geelong I don’t generally eat sugar, or at least I try not to for months at a time, because it’s, well, not the healthiest for the body. But this place, specifically That Place Patisserie, made me break my own rule. Their croissant is nothing short of extraordinary - flaky, buttery, perfectly baked, with layers that melt in your mouth. It’s the kind of croissant you dream about, the kind worth making an exception for. I’m so glad I stopped by That Place. It was absolutely worth it! 5 stars for the food; 5 for the service.

Had coffee and bites Wed morning 11/6. The cafe is small, suited mostly for take away during winter as it's too cold to sit outside. Inside, 6 people can sit in front of the window. Outside seating is on the verge and alongside the building. The seating is not built for comfort being off a squat stool type. The food items we had were good as was the coffee. If you've experienced patisseries overseas, you'll find the prices steep. Compared locally the prices are on the average to high end. The service is efficient and friendly. The 3 stars reflect the unexpected small indoor seating area and exposed outdoor area, a problem for cold days. I imagine that on a warmer day this would not be an issue. On food alone I would give it 4-4.5. Parking is curb side, we didn't have a problem finding a spot a few steps from the door but on busy days be prepared to park further away.

cutest place. so happy i stumbled across it! super friendly service, amazing vibe. the almond croissant was recommended and honestly one of the best i’ve ever had! nice crunch and not too sweet. tasted super fresh and loved how you could see them preparing more delicious pastries in the back. coffee was also super smooth + the cup it came in was beautiful. definitely recommend popping in for a visit, wish this was my local!
