Heads and Tales Bookstore

Absolutely love this light-filled, glorious bookstore in the heart of Barwon Heads! They have a particularly wonderful youth-literature section (picture-books, junior fiction, middle grade and young adult!). If this is your local then you’re very lucky as owners and booksellers - Emma & Bella are so knowledgeable and helpful! - and if you’re just passing through as a holiday-maker or out-of-Towner, it’s well worth a visit to stock up on goodies! Amazing staff, gorgeous location, fantastic selection.

Heads and Tales is a wonderful addition to Barwon Heads. Only a year old, the small business has embraced the community and has gained a loyal following. The light and welcoming shop has great customer service, and a wide array of books, with something for everyone from the youngest readers to the golf enthusiastic to the passionate baker to someone who just wants to escape reality in a thriller. The owners are warm and knowledgeable, and always have time to make a suggestion. At the same time, they are never pushy and make customers feel welcome to browse as long as they like, with no pressure to make a purchase. Always with a smile, they are also happy to do exchanges and gift wrap. The shop has a busy calendar of events that bring authors together with the community, as well as a book club that usually sells out within hours of being advertised. This store is a gem - not to be missed if you are in Barwon Heads, and well worth a road trip if you aren't!
