Source: Google$1.70 extra per ticket for online service fee during the SAME online booking session. No ability to call and purchase tickets to avoid the fee. Only other option is to purchase in person, which is not feasible in most cases in advance of the movie. I understand and accept (as many do) that a fee to use online ticket purchasing is necessary to recoup the cost of the creation and maintenance of the online service platform. However, multiple fees (1 per ticket during the same transaction) does not make sense if there is only a single fee applied to the purchase of a single ticket for the use of the online system. Charging multiple fees in the same transaction and not allowing over-the-phone purchasing is in no way showing appreciation for your customer. Additionally, I can understand advertisements PRIOR to the scheduled time of the movie, however, we were subjected to 18 minutes of advertisements AFTER the scheduled time! That is unacceptable. If you divide the cost of the ticket by the number of minutes of the movie, then multiple that cost by 18 minutes, it translates to $2.98 per person for their time. Effectively, every paying customer in the movie theatre paid ~$3.00 to watch commercials! Almost $10 for my family of 3! What a joke! Again, where is the customer appreciation?!?
I went and saw Song Sung Blue last night. I highly recommend that you do yourself a favour and go enjoy this at the cinema and get the full experience and then I guarantee you'll watch it again, at home, on your streaming service when it comes available. How many times to you watch a movie on a streaming service and say, I knew we should have gone to the cinema to see this. Make it a day or night out for you and your partner. It's a movie about love and family. 2 singers that create something with their bond to music and love. I loved it !
Watched Baz Luhrmann's concert movie EPiC at Reading's comfortable cinema hall. Was transported down memory lane and enjoyed every minute of this raw, honest view of the life of our beloved King. Glimpses of his sensitive, caring nature shine through his brilliant performances, all in his own words, nothing scripted. A must-see for all of us who longed to see him on stage, but never could, and for all generations because Elvis will never die in our hearts.
A truly awful place to watch a film. Patrons often ruin the experience with poor social behaviour [talking, bickering with other patrons, using mobile phones during film screening) with no or ineffective "policing" from staff. Pricing seems be dynamic and increases on weekends [yet often cinema is empty]. Recently tried to book and despite choosing "purchase as guest" it reverted to a forced choice to join some membership. There was no way to move forward despite supposedly being given a choice to avoid joining. I gave up after 3 attempts. Lift your game Reading Cinema.
Good cinema, came here on a Friday night at around 6-6:30pm to watch Barbie. There was a lot of people and it was very busy. I found it was a really spacious cinema, relatively clean and had lots of leg space between the chairs which is such a plus especially if there are people behind you like kids who would kick the bag of your chair but in this case they are so far apart thats not possible. You also get an incline chair where you can put your feet outwards and rest and super comfortable. The table given layout is very nice you can lay out your snacks and drinks on it, so much easier than holding the snacks. The cinema screen itself is very big and quite good quality, we went to the cinema closest to the left of the entrance. Variety of popcorn sizes and food selection available. For $19 a ticket, thats quite a bargain as its a nice cinema and not too expensive as the facilities are better than other competitive cinemas for the same price. Would go back again if I ever want to watch a movie in the cinema.
