Sweet India Geelong – Very poor dine‑in experience Visited Sweet India Geelong and ordered two thalis. Despite the restaurant being almost empty (only about 2 out of 10 tables occupied), it took around 45 minutes for our food to be served, which is unacceptable for such a simple order. Staff still kept saying they were busy, which did not match what we could clearly see in the dining area. On top of that, the tables were dirty when we sat down. Even after requesting twice, the table was not cleaned, and only on the third request did someone finally come and wipe it. This gave a very careless impression about hygiene and basic standards. What made the experience even worse was the behaviour at the counter. The person who appeared to be the owner at the front counter, wearing glasses, was on his personal mobile phone for more than half an hour, including while serving a customer, at times holding the phone against his head while “serving.” This looked extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. They were not responding properly to customers and there was very little basic courtesy or communication. Overall, long waiting time, dirty tables, unprofessional behaviour from (what seemed like) the owner and staff, and poor customer service made this a very bad experience. I hope management seriously improves their service and attitude, but at this stage I would not recommend this place for dine‑in.

We had a wonderful experience at Sweet India. The food was absolutely delicious the biryani was rich, fragrant, and full of flavour, and the momos were perfectly cooked and incredibly tasty. Every dish felt fresh and made with care. A special mention to Mr. Pavitajit Singh, who was exceptionally kind and attentive. He truly went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience, which made our visit even more memorable. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic, flavourful food and warm hospitality.

I’m very disappointed with my recent visit to Sweet India. We had to wait around 30-35 minutes for our food, which is far too long, especially when the restaurant wasn’t extremely busy. There was no proper update or apology for the delay. On top of that, we ordered chai (tea), and it was served after we had already finished our meal. Waiting that long for a simple tea is unacceptable. Unfortunately, the chai itself was not good at all — we ended up leaving it untouched. Overall, the service was very slow and the experience was frustrating. I hope the management improves their service time and quality because this was not a pleasant experience.
